So I totally fell off the bandwagon. I did half of the baby steps! But alas, I let sickness and the holidays defeat my first real attempt. But that's okay! As flylady says: just jump in where you are. I did decide to start over again though because I really want to make shining my sink a real habit. And I've been doing it since January 1st! Huzzah! 3 days of shiny sink. It is making me feel better.
We're still recovering, and it's been hard for me to find the motivation to do anything productive. I keep getting excited about setting and reaching goals, but then I go to sleep and when I wake up I loose focus and don't really get any energy until about 5 at night. And then by the time we're done eating, I'm done putting the baby to bed, etc. it's at least 9 or 10. So I get some things done and then go to bed at 1 or 2... and thus the cycle continues. I really should learn how to be more of a morning person. I also know that I need to accept the fact that I am a new mom, and this is all okay. As long as I get to spend time with my darling baby, that is what matters most. Baby steps and balance, right? If I can get into some routines I imagine I won't be so stressed about it all.
Anyway, I'm rambling again. What else would you expect at 1:15 in the am? Happy New Year! One day my blog will be a little more exciting... ;)
Emily- I just read through your flylady process and holy moly what an inspiration! I feel like I know a little of what you're going through having a newborn too. Most days I don't get ready, don't clean, don't do much of anything besides watch TV but the days I do set goals and actually hit them, I am happier. I will have to check out this flylady because it sounds like she knows what she is talking about! I am so proud of you and I want to thank you because it is motivating for me to know that you can get your life back in order even with a baby, and that it is up to me to make it happen! What good stuff, go LT!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jade! I miss being called LT, lol. You definitely should check it out, it's helped me a ton! :D I want to meet your little guy! Let me know when you're ready. ;)
