Little Miss Muffincakes

So, story for y'all. I know you're dying to know why the title. When I was a little girl my Mom, for some reason, used to call me muffincake, all the time apparently. For some reason, I was absolutely convinced that my full name was Emily Muffincakes. My brother Rob tried, without succeeding, to reason with me:

"I'm Emily Muffincakes!"

"No, your name is Emily Bawden."

"My name is Emily Muffincakes!"

"No it's not! You're Emily Bawden!"

"NO, I'm Emily MUFFINCAKES!!!"

And thus the endless fight went on. lol. It still makes me laugh. I love the perception of kids, I saw the world in a completely different way. It totally made sense to me too. I remember when things would make sense to me in a "grown-up" way, and how much of a revelation it was to me. Like the first time I saw a play. I had seen an article in the newspaper, I couldn't have been more than four. It was for "The Wizard of Oz" at the local high school. My best friend and her mom took me to it, and when I realized that it was the same thing as what was in the paper, when it really clicked that newspapers dealt with real-life and weren't imagination or fiction like one of my story books, it made me super excited. It's funny the stuff you remember from your past. It's even funnier to remember the way you used to think about things.
